It all started in middle school with a simple problem: my mom needed help organizing our home inventory. What seemed like a straightforward weekend project turned into something much bigger. That first version was rough around the edges, but it worked. More importantly, it sparked an idea that would consume the next four years of my life.

Growing Beyond the Original Vision

As I continued working on the app through high school, Dysperse began evolving. Friends started using it. Teachers took notice. What began as a home inventory tool was becoming something entirely different—a comprehensive productivity platform that people actually wanted to use.

The turning point came when IUSD schools approved Dysperse for official use across their district. Suddenly, this wasn't just a personal project anymore. Students and educators were relying on it daily. That's when I knew we had built something special.

The Technical Evolution

Building Dysperse taught me that shipping software is just as much about iteration as it is about innovation. The current version you see today is actually the result of multiple complete rewrites as I learned better ways to architect scalable applications.

The breakthrough came with Expo and EAS. These tools finally gave me the power to build truly cross-platform applications that feel native on every device. The deployment pipeline became seamless, allowing me to focus on what matters most: creating an intuitive user experience.

Community and Support

One of the most rewarding aspects of this journey has been the incredible support from the developer community. Major companies like Vercel, Cloudflare, and Neon stepped up as sponsors, providing the infrastructure backbone that makes Dysperse possible at scale.

Their belief in the project validated what we were building and enabled features that would have been impossible for a solo developer to implement otherwise.

Getting featured in my high school's newspaper was surreal. Seeing other students discover and use something I built in my bedroom felt like validation of all those hours spent debugging and refactoring.

We've engineered our app to perfection; allowing you to access your lists at the speed of thought. With the new Dysperse app, you can almost instantly see preloaded collections thanks to our caching system ⚡

#4 — Focus panel

Receiving feedback from you, the community, we found the old focus mode was great, however, it blocked user navigation and forced users to stay on one view—perspectives. The limitation created a non-autonomous environment that developed an inconvenience for many.

Meet the all-new focus panel. It's a fixed sidebar in the right hand section of your screen. The focus panel allows you to multitask with freedom, while still allowing you to navigate through the app.

#5 — Tabs!?

Previously, users navigated between boards/perspectives using a static list. However, this approached led to unnecessary clutter, which could have been avoided altogether.

Meet the all-new tabs. Similar to your everyday browser, Dysperse helps you navigate your productivity life at ease. Keep separate tabs for various modes, such as one dedicated to school and another for your personal life. Plus, tabs seamlessly synchronize across all your devices, ensuring instant access to your essential information whenever you need it.

#6 — Anywhere, anytime.

We've improved the ability to view your tasks across all you devices. Since your data's now stored on the cloud, you can access what's important anywhere, anytime. We've also upgraded our encryption hashing algorithm to SHA-256. It's the same algorithm many government organizations use to secure sensitive data.

First, you need to click on the "hive" icon in the bottom left corner of the Dysperse web app. If you're on mobile, it will be in the top right corner.

Step 2: Select the group you're currently in

Once you've clicked on the "hive" icon, select the group you're currently in.

Step 3: Scroll down to "Integrations" and click on "Canvas LMS"

Scroll down until you see the "Integrations" section, and then click on "Canvas LMS."

Step 4: Navigate to your Canvas dashboard and click on "Calendar"

Now that you've selected "Canvas LMS," you'll be taken to a new page where you need to navigate to your Canvas dashboard. Once there, click on "Calendar" in the side navigation menu.

Step 5: Click on the "Calendar Feed" button

After you've clicked on "Calendar," scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the "Calendar Feed" button.

Step 6: Copy the link and paste it into Dysperse

A dialog box will appear with a link to your calendar feed. Copy the link by clicking on the "Copy" button and then go back to the Dysperse page. Paste the link into the relevant field.

Step 7: Select the board you want to add the integration to

Finally, select the board you want to add the integration to and click on "Save." Your Canvas LMS is now connected to Dysperse, and you'll be able to see all of your upcoming assignments and deadlines in one place.

How do I enable multi factor authentication?

• Download an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator or Authy.

• Scan the QR code that appears on the screen and enter the code that is generated by the app.

• Enter the code that is generated by the app into the "Enter code" field and click "Verify".

Congratulations! You have successfully enabled multi factor authentication on your Dysperse account. You will now be required to enter the code that is generated by the authenticator app in addition to your password in order to log into your account.
